Tiny pink roses bloom against the dark oval drops of these Victorian earrings. Green leaves and little buds bring the floral decoration to life, while golden borders and ornate connecting links add a warm contrast to the black Whitby Jet.

Round tops sit above the longer oval drops, creating an elegant line beside the face. Dating to c.1870, the earrings combine a striking dark silhouette with the sweetness of those miniature flowers. Sweep your hair back to let the rose decoration take centre stage.

MATERIALS: Tests as 9ct Gold hooks. Gold-gilt fittings; underlying metal —. Pink rose Enamel decoration.

GEMSTONES: Whitby Jet.

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

VERY GOOD: These decorative earrings are in very good condition overall. There is some wear to the Jet drops visible to the rear. Their pink rose decoration and contrasting dark outlines remain wonderfully charming.
