Bold and beautifully architectural, this Victorian book chain necklace is composed of alternating rectangular plaque links and chunky round connectors for a striking, collarbone-skimming silhouette. Each plaque is richly detailed with a raised beaded lattice framed by crisp reeded borders, the oxidised recesses adding depth and drama to the Silver sheen. Two oversized bolt rings complete the look—one forming the clasp and a second at the front acting as a decorative drop or practical hanger for a pendant or locket.

The chain has wonderful articulation and presence, its sculptural geometry enhanced by a rich, even patina. Substantial yet elegant, it wears with confident Victorian flair and a satisfyingly weighty feel at 51g.

MEASUREMENTS: Chain is 18" (45.5cm) long.
Rectangular plaque links are 13mm wide.
Round connector rings measure 24mm in diameter.
Bolt rings measure 19mm in diameter.
WEIGHT: 51g.

MATERIALS: Tests as Silver.

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.
