This beautiful Victorian Tasmanian Maireener Shell necklace is a wonderful example of 19th-century craftsmanship. Composed of two neat rows of natural Maireener shells, each shell is hand-drilled and threaded to form a tactile, organic strand full of soft lustre and charm.

The shells graduate gently in size, giving a lovely balanced shape when worn. Finished with a secure metal screw clasp, this necklace carries a sense of history and seaside romance, an evocative piece of Victorian jewellery made from natural treasures.

MEASUREMENTS: Necklace is 15" or 38cm long.
Shells graduate from 5mm long x 4.5mm wide to 8mm long x 5mm wide.
WEIGHT: 13g.

MATERIALS: Metal clasp, Maireener Shells.

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

PACKAGING: Your order will be gift-wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.

状態

VERY GOOD: The shells show some minor surface wear and small drill-hole wear consistent with age and use, but remain securely strung and visually beautiful. The clasp is in perfect working order.
