A striking pair of Antique Victorian teardrop earrings set with beautifully banded Agates in painterly tones of russet, orange, and milky white. Each natural cabochon is mounted in a rich Pinchbeck bezel with a rope border detail, enhanced by delicate foliate and bead motifs at the tops. The warm, earthy palette of the Agates gives these earrings a unique character and a timeless natural beauty.

Dating to c.1860, the earrings are completed with later 9ct Gold hooks for secure and comfortable wear. A wonderful example of Victorian craftsmanship, these earrings combine sculptural detail with bold, natural gemstones for an eye-catching antique jewel.

MEASUREMENTS:
Earrings measure 40mm long including hooks.
Bead tops measure 5mm in diameter.
Teardrops measure 26mm tall overall.
Agates measure approx. 20mm tall x 10mm wide.

MATERIALS: Pinchbeck, 9ct Gold hooks, Agate

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

PACKAGING: Your order will be gift-wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.

Condition

VERY GOOD: The Agates are smooth, well-matched, and free from chips or scratches. The 9ct Gold hooks are later additions, offering secure wear. Pinchbeck bezels, foliate motifs, and beads are intact with no signs of squashing, retaining their sculptural detail.
