A romantic Victorian heart locket in 9ct Gold, embellished with a graceful swallow picked out in tiny Pearls and accented by twinkling star-set pink-red Paste. The softly satin front is enlivened with engraved foliage and finished with a polished border, crowned by a pretty foliate-scroll surmount and round bail.

Inside are twin heart-shaped compartments for treasured photographs (the original frames/glazing are not present). It comes with a fine 9ct Gold chain for effortless, ready-to-wear elegance.

Item Details

ERA: Victorian (1837–1901).

MEASUREMENTS: Pendant is 30mm long x 22mm wide.
Chain length is 20" or 50.8cm long.
Chain links are 1mm wide.
Pearls measure approx. 1–1.5mm in diameter.
Paste stones measure approx. 1.5mm in diameter.
WEIGHT: 5.8g (inc. chain).

MATERIALS: Tests as 9ct Gold, Pearls, Paste.

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

PACKAGING: Your order will be gift-wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.

Condition

EXCELLENT: The Pearls and Paste are bright and securely set with no losses visible, and the engraved and polished details remain crisp with only light wear commensurate with age. The hinge and closure operate smoothly, and the interior photo compartments are clean with some age-related residue. A well-cared-for antique locket with minimal surface wear overall.
