A beautifully crafted Victorian Old Mine Cut Diamond cluster ring in rich 18ct Gold, c.1870. The ring features a sparkling circular cluster, centred by a bright old Mine Cut Diamond surrounded by a halo of eight more!

The cluster has excellent presence on the finger at 10mm across, balanced by stylish scrolled shoulders that taper into a solid Gold shank. The detail of the engraving and the raised openwork gallery give the piece a refined antique character typical of the mid-Victorian era.

MEASUREMENTS: Cluster is 10mm in diameter.
Central Diamond is approx. 3.3mm in diameter, weighing approx. 0.15ct.
Eight surrounding Diamonds are approx. 2mm in diameter.
Total Diamond weight is approx. 0.40ct.
Band tapers from 3.5mm wide at the shoulders to 1.5mm wide at the back.
Weight: 3.2g.

MATERIALS: Tests as 18ct Gold, Old Mine Cut Diamonds (0.40ct).

STAMPS: “18CT”

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.
