These Victorian 18ct Gold fancy clam-shell drop earrings perfectly capture the ornate designs of the archaeological revival era! The saturated 18ct Gold has a luxurious satin finish and has been formed into exquisitely detailed torpedo drops, displaying sumptuous curves, the characteristic beaded cannetille details and dainty shells.

The contrast in textures creates a truly eye-catching pair, with their sweeping forms suspending elegantly from your lobes. Circa 1865, these earrings are quintessentially Victorian and will be unlike anything else in your antique jewellery collection!

ERA: Victorian, c.1865.

MEASUREMENTS: Earrings are 46mm long inc hooks.
Earrings are 14.5mm wide.
Weight: 4.6g combined.

MATERIALS: Tests as 18ct Gold.

STAMPS: Obscured stamps on back of earrings. (Looks to be Birmingham assay, we are unable to read a specific date letter but from the style, construction and patina we think these are likely archaeological revival era, c.1865).

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

PACKAGING: Your order will be gift wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.

VERY GOOD-EXCELLENT. These Victorian 18ct Gold fancy drop earrings are in superb condition. The Gold has a rich hue with only minor age-related wear, including some darkening on the back of the earrings, but they have retained their forms well. No dings or areas of damage- the curvaceous torpedo-shaped dangles catch the light beautifully. The details are all defined and the generously sized hooks provide secure and comfortable wear! The only downside is that they have lost the detail of the original antique hallmarks so we cannot state an exact date, but they are clearly identifiable as antique due to their unique large size and location. All in all, a fab pair of original 18ct Gold antique drop earrings!
