ERA: Victorian Archaeological Revival, c.1860-1870

MEASUREMENTS: Pendant is 29mm in diameter.
Amethyst is 17.5mm in diameter x 5mm deep, weighing approx. 10.91ct.
Pearls graduate from 2mm to 3mm in diameter.
Central Diamond 3mm in diameter.
Outer Diamonds are 1.25mm in diameter.
Weight: 14.1g.

MATERIALS: Tests as 18ct Gold, 10.91ct natural Amethyst (Foiled), Pearls, antique Diamonds.

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

PACKAGING: Your order will be gift wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.

Condition

VERY GOOD-EXCELLENT. This Victorian 18ct Gold Amethyst cabochon pendant is in wonderful condition throughout. The Gold is brightly saturated with only minimal surface wear, commensurate with age. The Amethyst is smoothly cut and securely set, free from chips, only under close inspection is there some wear to the foiling visible. The Pearls have a consistent shimmer throughout and the Diamonds are pristine. The woven hair in the locket back is immaculate and secure within the compartment, which can be opened to change its contents. With a securely affixed bale, you can suspend this superb Victorian pendant from your favourite Gold chain with ease!
