This Victorian 15ct Gold blue Enamel engraved puffy heart pendant is a rare treasure and will instantly add gothic allure to your collection! Meticulously handcrafted almost two centuries ago, this striking Gold heart is inlaid with ornate blue Enamel work creating a bold contrast.

Upon turning the heart pendant over you will discover a compartment displaying a lock of rare brown hair adding intrigue to this highly coveted Victorian pendant. Framing the locket back are two inscriptions reading 'Somerset' & '1846', which we can only imagine is the place and date in which this locket was inscribed. The perfect piece for an antique jewellery aficionado or lover of historical mementos, this antique Enamel pendant will be admired for generations to come!

ERA: Early Victorian, c.1846.

MEASUREMENTS: Pendant is 29mm long, including jump-ring.
Pendant itself is 22mm long x 20.5mm wide.
Weight: 5g

MATERIALS: Tests as 15ct Gold throughout, Blue Enamel.

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

PACKAGING: Your order will be gift wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.

Condition

VERY GOOD. This Victorian 15ct Gold blue Enamel engraved puffy heart pendant is in very good condition! The Enamel detailing has retained its vivid hue, with only some subtle wear to note. The 15ct Gold is bright and buttery and has kept its shape well over the years. On the back around the edge of the glass pane, there is some darkening, but this doesn't affect the inscription reading 'Somerset' and '1846'. An antique treasure of such fine craftsmanship deserves to take pride of place in your jewellery collection!
