A vibrant late Victorian starburst pendant in 15ct Gold, centring on a richly coloured oval Amethyst framed by a halo of natural Pearls. Radiating outwards are alternating golden rays and star motifs, each tipped with lustrous Pearls, giving this jewel its celestial presence and unmistakable Victorian charm.

The Amethyst’s lively purple tone is beautifully complemented by the creamy Pearl accents, and the bold starburst design makes this piece as collectable as it is wearable. A superb example of late 19th-century gemstone craftsmanship.

MEASUREMENTS: Pendant is 30mm long including bail.
Pendant itself is 24mm wide.
Amethyst measures 9 x 8mm, approx. 2.50ct.
Total gemstone weight approx. 2.50ct plus Pearls.
WEIGHT: 2.9g

MATERIALS: Tests as 15ct Gold, Amethyst (~2.50ct), Natural Pearls

STAMPS: 15ct

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

Condition

EXCELLENT: Amethyst is crisp and bright with no chips or abrasions. Pearls are well-matched and secure, with strong lustre. Gold frame and bail are in fine condition, showing minimal antique wear only.
