A spectacular Victorian Bohemian Garnet stars necklace, c.1890, alive with a constellation of starburst and rosette clusters that drape fluidly along the neckline. Dense pavé-style Garnet settings culminate in a graduated central girandole of three elegant drops, creating a richly decorative, collar/princess-length silhouette with dramatic Victorian allure.

The settings are closed-back collets typical of late 19th-century Bohemian Garnet work. The metal tests as Garnet Gold, complemented by a 9ct Gold safety chain for added security. A sympathetic antique patina enhances the deep, saturated red of the faceted Garnets, bringing warmth and intensity to every facet.

MEASUREMENTS: Garnets graduate from 2.5mm in diameter to 5mm long x 3mm wide.
WEIGHT: 43.5g.

MATERIALS: Tests as Garnet Gold, 9ct Gold safety chain, Garnet.

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

PACKAGING: Your order will be gift-wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.

Condition

EXCELLENT: Garnets are bright, well-matched and securely set with only light, minor facet wear visible under close inspection. The articulated collet settings remain crisp and intact with gentle surface wear and patina consistent with age. No obvious losses or later alterations observed in our inspection.
