This small Masonic orb charm is beautifully crafted! Masonic pendants such as this were originally worn around the neck during the 19th century, a discreet way to pay homage to the Freemasons. At first glance, this piece appears simple and spherical, but it folds out to form a cross!

Also known as a golden globe or cross fob, her cross is composed of 6 pyramids, each adorned with hand-crafted engravings, 24 in total! This Victorian jewellery is steeped in history and is sure to be a talking point.

Item Details

ERA: Victorian (1837-1901).

MEASUREMENTS: Masonic ball is 11.5mm in diameter.
When opened the cross is 26mm long x 18mm wide.
Weight:

MATERIALS: 9ct Gold casing, Solid 9ct Gold, Silver Gilt.
Tests as 9ct Gold casing, with Silver Gilt pyramids and a solid 9ct Gold jump-ring.

STAMPS: "9CT&SIL" on base of ball.
HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

PACKAGING: Your order will be gift wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.

Condition

VERY GOOD. This small Masonic orb charm is in very good condition. The sphere has kept its shape perfectly and remains securely closed during wear. Each pin securely clips bar one, however once closed she remains closed which is the most important factor. Once opened, this piece reveals an array of symbols, all etched into the piece individually, which are in lovely condition. There is some subtle wear to the pyramids throughout but nothing that affects her overall aesthetic! This will be the most interesting pendant in your collection!
