This rare pink iridescent Maireener Tasmanian shell necklace is an extraordinary find! Skilfully handcrafted by Aboriginal women on the island of Tasmania over a century ago, this precious and beautiful Victorian necklace is one to be cherished.

Displaying a plethora of dainty shells from the shores of Tasmania, the play of colour displayed across each of them is simply magnificent. From fuschia pinks to subtle emerald greens shimmering across their surface, this antique necklace is sure to make an impact!

MEASUREMENTS: Necklace is 21" or 53.5cm long.
Tasmanian Shells are 7.5mm long x 5mm in diameter (at widest point).
Weight: 8.1g

MATERIALS: Maireener Tasmanian Shell, 9ct Gold clasp, Gold toned Metal beads.

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

PACKAGING: Your order will be gift wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.

VERY GOOD. This rare pink iridescent Maireener Tasmanian shell necklace is in very good condition! The shells have a gorgeous hue and have lasted incredibly through the years. This piece should be handled with care as some of the shells are chipped which may be the condition they were picked from the shores in, however they are securely strung and have maintained their vibrant hue. This piece may have been re-strung at one point in time, as some of the shells have some pre-existing holes (through which the string would have been threaded), but this does not affect the integrity of the piece. Overall this treasure has lasted beautifully!
