A rare and romantic Victorian heart-shaped padlock crafted in 9ct Gold, richly engraved with ornate foliate scrolls and finished in that warm antique glow we love. The elegant elongated heart silhouette is crowned with a bezel-set Citrine, its honeyed hue bringing a luminous highlight at the centre.

Fully working and wonderfully tactile, this padlock has internal metal fittings for strength while retaining its graceful, slender profile. The original Citrine is approximately 0.42ct, offering a vibrant, sunny sparkle that pairs beautifully with the intricate engraving.

MEASUREMENTS: Padlock is 30.5mm long x 19mm wide.
Citrine measures 7.5mm long x 6mm wide, weighing approximately 0.42ct.
WEIGHT: 4g.

MATERIALS: Tests as 9ct Gold, Citrine (0.42ct).

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

VERY GOOD: The Citrine is secure with light natural wear to the surface visible under magnification only. The Gold shows crisp engraving with minor surface scratches commensurate with age. The padlock mechanism is fully working; there is age-appropriate wear at the hook/arm interface, stable and consistent with careful antique use.
