This rare Art Deco scarab beetle brooch is finely crafted from Silver and inlaid with a Faience Scarab and vibrant green Enamel.

Plique-A-Jour is a highly skilled technique, where the Enamel is applied without a backing to allow the light to shine through each section, making this Egyptian Revival brooch a highly collectible piece.

Scarab beetle motifs were often featured in Egyptian art, representing the cycle of life, and worn as a symbol of luck and protection. Exquisitely crafted and bursting with mesmerising details, this Enamel scarab beetle will look superb pinned to your lapel!

MEASUREMENTS: Brooch is 4" or 10cm long.
Brooch is 21.5mm wide.
Scarab is 16.5mm long x 10.5mm wide.
Weight: 15.8g

MATERIALS: Tests as Sterling Silver, Metal Pin, Enamel, Faience Scarab.

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

PACKAGING: Your order will be gift wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.

状態

VERY GOOD: The Enamel work has kept well over the years, with only some minor wear to one or two of the panels, which is understandable considering the brooch is over a century old! The pin is robust so you can enjoy wearing this phenomenal piece of Egyptian Revival jewellery with absolute confidence!
