A refined Georgian cluster ring in 9ct Gold, centred by a deep red rectangular Garnet framed by a tight halo of glossy black French Jet. The head rises in a scalloped collet above an open, pierced gallery, with a graceful split multi‑wire shank adding balance and elegance. Compact yet striking, the contrast of crimson and inky black is beautifully dramatic.

Poignant period detail comes via the inscription “Sarah Dixon, OB: 17 August 1814, Age 65”, a touching snapshot of history preserved within a jewel. Rich, warm Gold and the tactile cluster silhouette make this an evocative antique to cherish and wear, the Garnet weighing approximately 1.50ct.

MEASUREMENTS: Ring face is 11.5mm wide x 14.5mm across.
Garnet measures 8mm long x 4mm wide, weighing approx. 1.50ct.
French Jet stones measure 2.5mm in diameter.
Ring band tapers from 10mm wide at the shoudlers to 3.5mm wide at the back.
WEIGHT: 3.1g.

MATERIALS: Tests as 9ct Gold, Garnet (1.50ct), French Jet.

STAMPS: Sarah Dixon, OB: 17 August 1814, Age 65.

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

EXCELLENT: The Garnet and French Jet stones are all present and securely set with no noticeable chips or abrasions, showing only light age-consistent surface wear. The Gold setting and split shank are strong and well-preserved with gentle surface marks and a pleasing antique patina in the recesses. No obvious signs of later repair or resizing are visible.
