A sumptuous Victorian pendant-brooch, crafted into a striking floral cluster of deep, faceted Amethysts around a shimmering natural Pearl. The five oval Amethysts sit in textured, leaf borders over a Sterling Silver frame that has been richly gilded with 18ct Gold to give the piece the warm, burnished look. The piece comes complete with brooch fittings so it wears beautifully as a pendant on a chain or pinned to a lapel.

The design is textbook late-19th century — botanical, detailed and unapologetically decorative. The pin mechanism is made in metal for strength and durability while the visible surfaces retain the original gold bloom. This is a statement example of Victorian gem work, with excellent colour in the Amethysts and a delicate natural Pearl at the heart of the blossom.

MEASUREMENTS: Pendant is 39mm long including bale.
Pendant itself is 30.5mm long x 30.5mm wide.
Each Amethyst measures 10mm long x 8mm wide, weighing approx. 12.50cts combined.
Pearl measures approx. 3.5mm in diameter.
WEIGHT: 10.2g.

MATERIALS: Tests as Sterling Silver, 18ct Gold gilding, Amethyst (12.5cts), Natural Pearl.

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

PACKAGING: Your order will be gift-wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.

EXCELLENT: The Amethysts are bright with strong purple colour and display good facet life; no obvious chips or large abrasions are visible to the unaided eye. The gold-bloomed Silver setting is intact with only light, appropriate surface wear for its age and the pin/bale mechanics function correctly — the pin bar is robust metal for secure wear. Overall the piece has been very well cared for and presents beautifully.
