An exceptional treasure from the 18th century, this resplendent Georgian Rococo 18ct Gold Amethyst Diamond half hoop ring is among the rarest we’ve had the privilege to offer!

Crafted from rich 18ct Gold, she showcases a regal 0.75ct Amethyst, flanked by four scintillating rose-cut Diamonds. Dated to the 1790s, with stunning ribbed, or shell-like, grooves to the back of the setting and sought-after details such as the typical Rococo "c-curl" flourishes to the shoulders... this enchanting piece also features the most romantic inscription 'Secret & Faithful', secretly placed inside the band!

What sets this Georgian ring apart, however, is her rare Rock Crystal locket back, a highly sought-after and scarcely seen feature in early Georgian antique jewellery. MEASUREMENTS: Amethyst is 6mm long x 4.5mm wide, weighing approx. 0.75ct.
Inner Diamonds are 3.3mm long x 2.9mm wide.
Outer Diamonds are 2.8mm long x 1.7mm wide.
Ring band is 1.5mm wide at the back.
Weight: 2.6g.

MATERIALS: Tests as 18ct Gold, Silver settings, natural Diamonds, Amethyst (foiled), Rock Crystal "locket" back or "window".

STAMPS: 'Secret & Faithful' inscribed inside the elegant band.

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

PACKAGING: Your order will be gift wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.

Her gemstones are radiant and securely set with scarcely any indications of her great age through wear at all- she is a marvel! Her inscription and engraved band remain crisp and legible. With little else to note, she's a must-have!
