This magnificent Georgian chain is a rare survival from the late 18th century, featuring a beautifully modelled hand clasp crafted in solid Gold. The clasp is adorned with a Turquoise cuff detail and a tiny Ruby ring on the finger — a symbolic and sentimental touch so characteristic of Georgian jewellery.

The chain itself is composed of warm golden Pinchbeck, richly patinated and beautifully preserved, its generous 44" length allowing for multiple styling options. An exceptional piece of Georgian craftsmanship, full of history, charm, and romantic symbolism.

MEASUREMENTS: Chain is 44" or 111.5cm long.
Chain is 5.5mm wide.
Turquoise detail on clasp measures 1.5mm in diameter.
Ruby accent measures 1.5mm x 1mm.
WEIGHT: 53.4g.

MATERIALS: Pinchbeck chain, Clasp tests as approximately 12ct Gold, Turquoise, Ruby.

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

PACKAGING: Your order will be gift-wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.

EXCELLENT: The chain and clasp are in superb antique condition with no damage or wear to note. The Turquoise and Ruby details are intact and securely set. The Gold clasp has developed a beautiful soft patina, adding to its Georgian allure.
