This is an incredibly rare chance to add a pair of Georgian French 18ct Gold rose-cut Diamond day & night earrings to your antique jewellery collection!

This exact pair of Georgian earrings features on page 33 of 'Georgian Jewellery', written by the late Ginny Redington Dawes and Olivia Collings, published in 2007. Collectively, they boast a spread of 4.10ct, with the central Diamonds alone weighing 1.00ct and 0.75ct respectively; each hand-cut Diamond has been foiled to enhance its brilliant sparkle.

What makes these French earrings so unique is their construction. Named 'Day & Night' earrings, this pair of Georgian earrings consists of three components; a large rose-cut Diamond Dormeuse that can be worn alone, and 2 'pendant' drops. The drops can be removed separately, and even worn with a Gold chain as a pendant to give you the utmost style possibilities. 

Although over 250 years old, these Georgian earrings haven't lost their sparkle, literally and metaphorically. These earrings are an incredible investment opportunity, and will likely become a prized family heirloom that will remain in the family for generations to come!

Earrings:
Earrings are 41mm top to bottom.
Pear drop is 20.5mm long top to bottom.
Bottom hoop pendant is is 27mm x 19mm.

Earring One:
Large Rose Cut Diamond is 6.7mm x 6.1mm (approx 1.00ct).
Pear drop is 5.6mm x 4.1mm (approx 0.50ct).
Diamonds on bottom hoop drop graduate from 2.4mm to 3.7mm in diameter (approx 0.77ct)
TOTAL APPROX 2.30ct.*

Earring Two:
Large Rose Cut Diamond is 6.9mm x 5.6mm (approx 0.75ct).
Pear drop is 5.6mm x 4mm (approx 0.50ct).
Diamonds on bottom hoop drop graduate from 2mm to 3.5mm (approx 0.53ct)
TOTAL APPROX 1.80ct.*

MATERIALS: Silver settings backed with 18ct Gold, 18ct Gold hooks, Rose-Cut Diamonds (4.10ct total).

STAMPS: French Eagles head, Tiara hallmark for small Gold guarantee, Minerva Head for Silver. Rose-Cut Diamonds.
HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

PACKAGING: Your order will be gift wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.

VERY GOOD-EXCELLENT. These Georgian French 18ct Gold Rose-Cut Diamond earrings are in very good to excellent condition. The earrings, given their grand age, have lasted impeccably well, to the point where you can still see their authentic French stamps. The lever backs are in perfect working order, so you can wear them confidently. The 18ct Gold backing to the Silver settings has remained gorgeous. Each of the Diamonds is fully foiled, enhancing their sparkle! 

There are some small nibbles to the larger rose-cut Diamond of one of the earrings, near the outer edge, but this is only visible up close! The only other thing to note is some ever so slight signs of wear commensurate with age to the 18ct Gold backed Diamond settings and some patina within the domed back of the larger rose-cut Diamonds, but this is an entirely natural phenomenon.
