With mourning jewellery made to memorialise and commemorate loved ones who have passed, this Georgian ring is an incredibly special find, steeped in history and sentimental value.

Crafted from buttery 18ct Gold, she is inlaid with black Enamel on the outer band and is dated to 1744! Her central Rock Crystal features a skull and crossbones that will certainly intrigue appreciators of memento mori jewellery!

This exact ring features on page 156 of the well-known book 'Georgian Jewellery' by the late Ginny Redington Dawes and Olivia Collings.

This ring cannot be resized.

MEASUREMENTS: Rock Crystal ring face is 4.5mm long x 5.5mm wide.
Ring band is 2.5mm wide.
Weight: 3.8g.

MATERIALS: Tests as 18ct Gold, Rock Crystal, black Enamel

STAMPS: Evett, OB:19, 1744 AE, other obscured stamps on outer band
HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

PACKAGING: Your ring will be shipped in a luxury velvet Lillicoco presentation box.

Condition

VERY GOOD-EXCELLENT: This Georgian 18ct Gold skull mourning ring is in lovely condition. Her Rock Crystal centre is free from scuffs or nibbles and displays the skull and crossbones well. Her band is smooth and secure, meticulously crafted and strong. There are some signs of wear to the Enamel, which has obscured some of the stamps, commensurate with age. An incredible addition to your collection, this Georgian ring is a highly coveted piece!
