A bold and unusual Antique Victorian charm, designed in the form of a snake head and set with glowing red Rose-Cut Garnets. The gemstones graduate in size, arranged in a cobblestone effect with the largest Garnet at the centre, their deep plum tones glowing beautifully in the light. Adding to its character, the snake’s eyes are formed from antique Old Mine-Cut Diamonds in sturdy Silver bezels, giving this piece a mesmerising and lifelike appearance.

Crafted c.1850 in Sterling Silver with remnants of 18ct Gold around the Garnet settings, this charm has a striking Gothic presence. From afar, the design appears almost like a tiger claw, yet on closer inspection the snake motif becomes apparent, a clever and symbolic jewel representing wisdom and protection.

MEASUREMENTS:
Charm measures 23mm long (excluding bale and jump ring) x 11mm wide.
Diamonds measure approx. 2mm each.
Largest Garnet is 6.2mm in diameter, graduating down to approx. 1mm.
Weight: 5.7g

MATERIALS: Tests as Sterling Silver with remnants of 18ct Gold, Garnet, Diamond

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

PACKAGING: Your order will be gift-wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.

状態

VERY GOOD: Garnets remain vibrant with crisp facet edges, most in very good to excellent condition. One Garnet beneath the central stone has a noticeable chip, though this does not detract significantly from its beauty. The Diamonds are secure, and the cobblestone-style settings remain intact. Remnants of 18ct Gold are visible but worn.
