This Edwardian Silver engraved heart shaped vesta case will ignite your love for all things antique! Rich with historical charm, this collectible was at the height of popularity during the 19th and early 20th centuries, used to hold and light matchsticks with her ridged side. Her unique name derives from the Roman goddess of fire and hearth.

Crafted from lustrous Sterling Silver, her heart shape is encased in forget-me-nots and comes complete with a cartouche on her front reading 'HD'. With her chunky jump ring, she could become a statement piece adorning your neck by simply suspending her from a chunky Silver chain. MEASUREMENTS: Vesta is 39mm long x 36.5mm wide.
Weight: 16.6g.

MATERIALS: Tests as Sterling Silver throughout.

HALLMARKS: ' JR' Makers mark, Birmingham Anchor, Lion Passant, Date letter 'd' for the year 1903 on the lip on the vesta inside.

PACKAGING: Your order will be gift-wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.

Condition

VERY GOOD. This Edwardian Silver engraved heart shaped vesta case is in very good condition! Her Sterling Silver is beautiful throughout, with her engravings having remained crisp and clear. There is a dark patina on the inside, commensurate with age, adding to her antique charm. Her hinge mechanism is in full working order keeping the lid firmly shut when suspended from the jump-ring. An overall exciting and characterful piece, sure to make a cute addition to your collection!
