MATERIALS: Tests as 9ct Gold back and front, metal frames & hinge for strength & durability.

STAMPS: 9CT FRONT & BACK.

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

EXCELLENT: Crisp engravings with light surface wear and gentle softening to the high points. Hinge and bale are sound; edges and interior show minor age-related marks with the occasional tiny spot of verdigris at seams, commensurate with age. No evidence of later repairs.
