This Edwardian 9ct Gold engraved heart padlock pendant is the perfect petite treasure! The padlock is crafted entirely from solid buttery Gold and has a full set of English hallmarks dating to 1909, making it a highly collectible piece!

Steeped in romantic sentiment, heart padlocks were gifted as an indication of love and lifelong commitment. Women would attach them to bracelets with only their husbands having the key to unlock them when they return, as a mark of their commitment to them.

EXCELLENT. This Edwardian 9ct Gold engraved heart padlock pendant is in excellent condition. The Gold is buttery and the engraved details have all remained defined, catching the light beautifully. There is some minor wear on the sides of the pendant, commensurate with age, which in no way detracts from the beauty or functionality of the piece. The locking mechanism works perfectly, allowing you to confidently suspend this antique heart padlock from a chain or bracelet of your choice!
