A sumptuous Early Victorian pendant showcasing a high-domed oval Garnet cabochon glowing deep burgundy to purplish-red. The cabochon is bezel-set in rich 18ct Gold and framed by multiple rows of twisted rope-wire, with a complementary twisted-wire bail for a refined, textural finish.

MEASUREMENTS: Pendant is 30.5mm long including jump ring,
Pendant is 20mm wide.
Garnet measures 16mm long x 14mm wide, weighing approx. 8.00ct.
WEIGHT: 7.5g.

MATERIALS: Tests as 18ct Gold, Garnet (8.00ct).

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

VERY GOOD: The Garnet cabochon shows surface scratches and natural inclusions, with a bright polish retained. The 18ct Gold setting and rope borders are secure with gentle rubbing to high points and a lovely antique patina; the locket glass has light surface wear. No obvious dents, breaks or later repairs, and the piece presents beautifully for its age.
