A dainty Art Deco butterfly charm crafted in Shakudo, its velvety dark wings enlivened by exquisitely fine Gold and Silver miniature landscapes—think pagodas, trees and distant mountains—painted in delicate detail. Shakudo, a Japanese mixed-metal alloy of Copper with a touch of Gold, develops a rich black patina through traditional chemical treatment, prized for its dramatic contrast. MEASUREMENTS: Pendant is 18mm long x 17mm wide.
WEIGHT: 2.2g.

MATERIALS: Tests as 9ct Gold (jump ring), Shakudo.

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

PACKAGING: Your order will be gift-wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.

Condition

EXCELLENT: The Shakudo panels retain a deep, even patina with crisp detailing. Metalwork is clean and well-preserved with only minimal surface wear commensurate with age. The 9ct Gold jump ring is secure and ready to wear.
