A striking crescent-moon pendant attributed to Bernard Instone, crafted in Sterling Silver with a filigree back and finished with a 9ct Gold jump ring. Five “grape” Amethysts glow across the arc among chased leaves and bead accents—pure Instone: romantic Arts & Crafts sensibility made for everyday wear.

The openwork back keeps the scale generous without weight, and the saturated purples play brilliantly against the softly patinated Silver.

ERA: Art Deco c.1930

MEASUREMENTS: Crescent is 36mm tall x 33mm wide (excluding jump ring).
Amethysts measure from 7.6 x 5.2mm down to 5.0 x 5.6mm, approximately 3.00ct combined.

WEIGHT: 8.3g

MATERIALS: Tests as Sterling Silver, 9ct Gold jump ring, Amethyst (~3.00ct combined)

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

Condition

EXCELLENT: Amethysts are bright with only light facet wear visible under magnification. Silver shows an attractive, even patina; settings and jump ring are secure.
