A rare and romantic Austro-Hungarian pendant depicting Saint George and the Dragon, crafted in Silver and richly decorated with coloured enamel, Ruby, Emerald and lustrous Pearls. The heroic tableau is alive with colour: emerald-green and deep cobalt enamels play against ruby-red accents, with soft ivory tones from the graduating Pearls adding an elegant counterpoint. A single Pearl drop sways below the scene, lending movement and a final flourish to this storied jewel.

MEASUREMENTS: Pendant is 56mm long (including drop) x 37mm wide.
Pearls graduate from 1.2mm to 3mm in diameter.
Emeralds are 2mm in diameter.
Ruby is 2mm in diameter.
WEIGHT: 22.5g

MATERIALS: Tests as Silver, Emerald, Ruby, Pearl, Coloured Enamel

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

EXCELLENT: Rubies, Emeralds and Pearls show minor wear under close inspection, with all securely set. Silver surfaces display light age-related wear consistent with period craftsmanship. Enamel remains vibrant overall with small, scattered areas of wear commensurate with age.
