A lush rosette of glossy green Chrysoprase cabochons blooms from this Silver brooch, each cabochon softly domed and framed by delicate milgrain. The openwork plate has a lace-like lightness, dotted with twinkling Marcasite accents that add a refined, smoky sparkle around the verdant centrepiece.

Crafted in the Arts & Crafts era, its naturalistic floral motif and hand-finished detailing capture the movement’s love of honest materials and artisanal workmanship. MEASUREMENTS: Brooch is 34mm long x 28mm wide.
Central Chrysoprase measures 11mm long x 7.5mm wide.
8 x Chrysoprase cabochons measure 7mm long x 5.5mm wide.
Total Chrysoprase weight is approx. 9.38ct.
Marcasite accents measure 2mm in diameter.
WEIGHT: 8.3g.

MATERIALS: Tests as Silver, Chrysoprase (9.38ct), Marcasite.

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

EXCELLENT: The Chrysoprase cabochons are smooth and glossy with no notable chips, and the Marcasite accents are intact and bright. The Silver shows light surface wear and a gentle patina in recessed areas, commensurate with age, with settings crisp and secure. The straight pin, tubular hinge and C catch are in good working order, with no visible repairs or alterations.
