An exquisite Art Nouveau necklace, circa 1890–1910, featuring a 15ct Gold drop inspired by nature with an elegant twist design. Two solid, natural Opals are set within chubby bezels to keep them secure..

The Opals display vivid, lively colours, shimmering greens, blues, and neon flashes, beautifully highlighted by the high-polish Gold and delicate millegrain bezel detail. A later 9ct Gold chain with bolt-ring clasp completes this 18" necklace, allowing the drop to sit gracefully.

Drop 2¼" or 5.7cm.
Top Opal 9mm x 7.2mm, 1.10ct.
Larger Opal 20mm x 13mm, 5.00ct.

MATERIALS: Tests as 15ct Gold drop, 9ct Gold later chain, Opal (6.10ct)

STAMPS: Antique "15CT" on the drop

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

VERY GOOD – EXCELLENT: The Opals are in very fine antique condition, with no chips, cracks, or crazing, well-set and secure in their original millegrain bezels. The 15ct Gold drop is highly polished, catching the eye beautifully. The later 9ct Gold chain is in excellent working order and can be swapped or adjusted if desired.
