This Art Deco Japanese Shakudo Damascene butterfly bracelet is a work of art! Crafted during the early half of the 20th century, each fan-shaped link tells its own story with beautiful Japanese motifs using a technique called Damascene. Damascene involves inlaying metal into an oxidised steel backdrop, to create intricate and beautiful designs such as these!

We love the presence of this Art Deco bracelet on the wrist and its beautiful snippet of history that can be passed onto future generations with its own story to tell, with each fan being painted and formed with its original design and character.

ERA: Art Deco 1930s-1940s.

MEASUREMENTS: Bracelet 8" or 20cm long.
Bracelet is 16mm wide.
Safety chain is 4" long.
Weight: 10g

MATERIALS: Tests as Gold tone metal with 24kt Gold, Shakudo Damascene.

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

PACKAGING: Your order will be gift wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.

Condition

VERY GOOD. This Art Deco Japanese Shakudo Damascene butterfly bracelet is in wonderful condition. The bracelet has kept its shape splendidly, the links are all secure and the safety chain provides an extra layer of protection. The motifs on the bracelets have been beautifully retained, although some of the finer details have been lost to time. This is a gorgeous piece of jewellery that you won't come across often!
