A French beauty! Set in 18ct White Gold and Platinum with both the Wolf's head and Eagle's head hallmarks, she exudes ample antique charm and quintessential architectural Art Deco style of the 1920's.

Established in the city of Kiev by Joseph Marchak in 1878, his son Alexander Marchak joined in 1913 and quickly became his protégé- a darling of the industry who won many illustrious accolades and was one of the most important jewellers of the Russian Empire. Later, the family had to flee and they set up their new business in Rue de La Paix, Paris in the 1920's where they continue to create beautiful jewels to this day.

MEASUREMENTS: Tanzanite is 10mm long x 8mm wide, weighing approx. 1.95ct.
Baguette Diamonds are 4.5mm long x 2.5mm wide.
Ring band is 2mm wide.
Weight: 4g.

MATERIALS: Tests as 18ct White Gold, Platinum settings, Tanzanite (1.95ct), Diamonds.

STAMPS: "Marchak - Paris" inside band. French Eagle's head for 18ct Gold, Wolf's head for Platinum settings.

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

PACKAGING: Your ring will be shipped in a luxury velvet Lillicoco presentation box.

EXCELLENT: A prestigious and beautiful ring from the influential Parisienne jewellery house Marchak. This striking ring is in excellent condition for its age with no chips, no damage and no re-size marks. The 1.95ct Tanzanite is set securely and has a gorgeous deep lavender hue. The baguette-cut Diamond shoulders extremely crisp and bright with no visible inclusions. The "MARSHAK" stamp inside is also crisp and clear, a lovely testament to the history of the piece. It's worth noting althought the ring setting and baguettes are original 1920's-40's the large Tanzanite centre-stone must have been added later.

Tanzanite is a rare gemstone found only in the foothills of mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania. (Discovered in the 1960's!) So the centre-stone was probably replaced around the 1980's/90's when Tanzanites became the most vogue gem.
