This antique WW1 Touch Wud lucky charm carries a rich historic background that deserves to be heard! The phrase 'touch wood' is believed to have started circulation in the Victoria era, believed to bring luck to those who touch wood. Drawing from this 'Touch Wud' charms were created during WW1 for soldiers to wear as talismans.

The unique design of this 20th-century pendant is crafted predominantly from a bead of wood, formed into a body with 9ct Gold arms and legs. With pink Paste eyes to finish, the twinkle in the eye of this Touch Wud charm is enough to win you over!

MEASUREMENTS: Pendant is 25mm long, including jump-ring.
Pendant is 12mm in diameter.
Weight: 1.5g

MATERIALS: Tests as 9ct Gold arms & legs, Wooden body, pink Paste.

STAMPS: '9CT' on arms & legs.
HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

EXCELLENT. Especially when considering her grand age and history, this antique WW1 Touch Wud lucky charm is in excellent condition. Each component is securely connected and the Gold has a lovely buttery hue. The wood is perfectly spherical with no damage to note. With a jump-ring to finish, if you were on the hunt for a new lucky charm this Edwardian pendant could be the one for you!
