This Antique WW1 15ct Gold Cased Fumsup Good Luck Charm will make an intriguing addition to your collection! The name is derived from the word "thumbs up" and was traditionally worn on a button or pendant chain as a good luck talisman, rising to popularity during the First World War.

As per tradition, the head is formed of carved wood, allowing the wearer to "touch wood" to complete the ritualistic aspect of this historical good luck charm, with a Gold body and baby blue Paste eyes bringing colour to the piece.

MEASUREMENTS: Charm is 31mm long x 9mm wide at widest point
Weight: 1.9g

MATERIALS: Tests as 15ct Gold Cased, Wooden head, Paste eyes

STAMPS: R 636612 on back.
HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

PACKAGING: Your order will be gift wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.

VERY GOOD This Antique WW1 15ct Gold Cased Fumsup Good Luck Charm is in very good condition. Having stood the test of time, the wooden head is nicely secure as are the two Paste gemstones set in the eye sockets. The Gold is buttery and reflective, and the arms still have movement. The "fumsup" on the front has worn slightly, commensurate with age, but is still legible. Complete with a soldered jump ring, you can wear this intriguing piece of antique jewellery with confidence!
