Item Details

ERA: Georgian (1714-1837).

MEASUREMENTS: Necklace is 16" or 40cm long.
Paste stones are 6mm in diameter.
Weight: 19.5g.

MATERIALS: Tests as Silver, Paste.

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

PACKAGING: Your order will be gift wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.

Condition

VERY GOOD. This antique Silver Paste Riviere necklace is in wonderful condition throughout! Each component is original to the piece, which is no mean feat when considering she is over 200 years old! The Paste gemstones are all present and secure, there is variation in their colour, depending on the light, with some crisp white and others with a soft yellow hue. This is likely due to their foils having aged over the years and is to be expected from an authentic piece of Georgian Paste jewellery. The Silver is lustrous and has accrued an admirable patina creating a dramatic finish that makes the Paste pop! The necklace comes with a gorgeous authentic chain and smooth domed back settings that sit comfortably against the skin.
