An ornate Victorian Silver locket with a wonderful architectural silhouette, this rectangular treasure bears the Chester hallmark for 1882. Its face is richly decorated with engine-turned foliate engraving, framed by a twisted rope inner border, applied beaded rosettes and a scalloped perimeter that catches the light beautifully. The darker antique patina settled in the recesses adds depth and drama to the crisp metalwork.

Ingeniously versatile, it wears as a pendant from a generous teardrop bail and also as a brooch via the pin and tube catch on the reverse. Inside lies a hinged double-frame ready to cradle your most cherished photographs—an elegant fusion of sentiment and style from the late 19th century.

EXCELLENT: The Silver shows light surface wear and a pleasing antique patina, with the engraving and applied beading remaining crisp. Subtle traces of historic solder to the hinge and pin fittings are noted under close inspection; overall, the piece has been very well cared for.
