Ornate and richly sculptural, this English Sterling Silver purse is a beautiful slice of 1915 design. Its softly lobed silhouette is alive with hand-worked repoussé and chased foliate scrolls, the flowing Art Nouveau sensibility catching the light and pooling into the recesses with a lovely antique patina. The hinged case is suspended from a fine chain and an extra-large jump ring for a striking, wearable look.

Personalised with the engraved initials “LKF”, this piece carries a whisper of its original owner’s story. It bears clear English hallmarks including the Lion Passant and the Chester Assay mark with date letter P for 1915 (maker’s mark obscured), affirming its heritage and quality.

MEASUREMENTS: Overall length is 6" (15cm) including extra large jump ring, chain and purse.
Purse is 46.5mm long x 67.5mm wide.
Chain links are 2.5mm wide.
Jump ring is 30mm in diameter.
WEIGHT: 37g.

MATERIALS: Tests as Sterling Silver.

HALLMARKS: Lion Passant, Chester Assay, Date Letter P for 1915, Obscured Maker's Mark.

EXCELLENT: The silver surfaces show light, even wear with fine scratches, tiny dings and an attractive, age-appropriate patina within the repoussé detail. The hinge and suspension are secure with no obvious repairs or replacements noted.
