A charming Victorian fly brooch crafted in warm 9ct Gold, alive with rich colour and delicate detail. A deep red Garnet cabochon forms the body, its smooth glow beautifully complemented by rows of creamy Pearls across the outstretched wings and finished with tiny Spinel eyes for a subtle spark.

Pin is 37mm long.
Garnet cabochon measures 11mm long x 7mm wide, weighing approx. 2.75ct.

MATERIALS: Tests as 9ct Gold, Garnet (2.75ct), Spinel, Pearls.

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

EXCELLENT: The Garnet cabochon presents beautifully with minimal surface wear, the Pearls are intact with gentle age-toning, and the Spinel eyes are secure and bright. The Gold shows light wear and a fine antique patina; the pin, hinge and C-catch are secure and in good working order. No signs of later repair are evident, suggesting the piece has been well cared for.
