This exquisite antique 18ct Gold Diamond miniature portrait ring is a uniquely European treasure- mostly likely Italian or possibly French! Showcasing an elegant lady with impeccably styled hair and Georgian Pompadour style attire, framed by a dazzling spread of rose-cut Diamonds set in 18ct Gold.

Fashioned during both the Georgian and Victorian eras, miniature portraits were a way to carry a loved one with you at all times - how romantic! This portrait ring is sure to be adored by collectors and antique jewellery enthusiasts alike, what a wonderful way to connect to a bygone era.

With an abundance of character this gorgeous lady was made in the Georgian style, but is a later Georgian revival ring from the turn of the 20th Century, the 1900's rather than the 1800's! A real joy for any history enthusiast and a joy to wear too!

MEASUREMENTS: Ring face is 25mm long x 21mm wide.
Diamonds are approximately 2mm in diameter, weighing approx 0.80ct combined.
Ring profile sits 6.5mm from the finger.
Weight: 10.3g.

MATERIALS: Tests as 18ct Gold shank and setting, Silver locket rim, Silver settings around the Rose-Cut Diamonds.

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

PACKAGING: Your ring will be shipped in a luxury velvet Lillicoco presentation box.

Condition

VERY GOOD. This antique 18ct Gold Diamond miniature portrait ring is in very good condition. The ring has lasted amazingly over the years, peppered with rose-cut Diamonds that have remained secure in their settings. The ring band is robust and can be worn comfortably and with confidence. The only bit of wear to note is where the shoulders meet the head, and patina has accrued, but this is commensurate with age. The portrait has lasted amazingly well.
