This ADORE-able antique 15ct Gold ADORE acrostic ring is an interesting piece of antique jewellery!

In this acrostic ring, the gemstones Amethyst, Diamond, Opal, Ruby and Emerald spell out the word "ADORE", making this Victorian ring a wonderful romantic keepsake.

Fun fact: In Victorian times (before modern advances in modern gemmology) any red gemstone was called a Ruby. The most famous example is the "Black Prince's Ruby" in the English Imperial State Crown which is actually a Spinel!

This ring is another example of that phenomenon, as the "R" in ADORE in this ring is actually a Garnet!

MEASUREMENTS: Diamond measures 3.5mm (approximately 0.25cts). The total gemstone carat weight of the ring is approximately 1ct.

MATERIALS: Solid 15ct Gold, Amethyst, Diamond, Opal, Garnet, Emerald.

STAMPS: Anchor, Date letter "b" for 1876, remaining marks obscured

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

EXCELLENT. This antique 15ct Gold ADORE acrostic ring is an interesting piece of antique jewellery and is in excellent condition throughout! The stones are free from chips and the settings are intact holding the gems securely. The shank is slender as you'd expect from a ring of this age and has a full set of legible hallamrks inside!
