A jewel of pure iridescence, this Art Deco Blue Morpho butterfly pendant, c.1920, is crafted in Sterling Silver with shimmering natural Morpho Butterfly wing. The ethereal play of azure to electric blue dances across the wings, framed by elegant silver partitions that echo delicate wing veining and finished with a subtle beaded edge for a refined, period-perfect touch.

ERA: Art Deco, c.1920.

MEASUREMENTS: Pendant is 26mm long at longest point (from tip of wing).
Pendant is 40mm wide.
WEIGHT: 7g.

MATERIALS: Tests as Sterling Silver, 9ct Gold jump ring, Morpho Butterfly.

STAMPS: SILVER.

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

PACKAGING: Your order will be gift-wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.

VERY GOOD: The Morpho wing displays vibrant colour and beautiful lustre, with the Silver in very good condition overall. There is light age-related wear to the back where the SILVER stamp has been polished, and two small depressions at the edges from an earlier conversion from a brooch. The 9ct Gold jump ring is a secure later addition, neatly soldered; a charming, well-cared-for Deco piece.
