This exquisite Georgian pendant is crafted in rich 18ct Gold and displays a vibrant foiled natural Pink Topaz at its heart. The glowing, rosy hue of the gemstone is accentuated by the foiling beneath, a quintessential Georgian technique used to enhance brilliance and colour.

The prized gem is framed by a spectacular 18ct Gold cannetille surround, with intricate Gold coils and granulation forming a decorative starburst border. This detailed craftsmanship is characteristic of the early 19th century, when cannetille work was at the height of fashion. Its ornate, lace-like texture gives the piece both delicacy and impact.

A rare survivor of its time, this pendant captures the romantic elegance of the Georgian period and would make a stunning addition to any antique jewellery collection.

Item Details

ERA: Georgian, c.1800-1820.

MEASUREMENTS: Pendant is 28.5mm long including jump ring.
Pendant itself is 23.5mm long x 17.5mm wide.
Topaz is 12.5mm long x 7mm wide.
WEIGHT: 3.7g.

MATERIALS: Tests as 18ct Gold, Pink Topaz (foiled).

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

PACKAGING: Your order will be gift-wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.

Condition

EXCELLENT: The pretty Georgian Pink Topaz is the most sought-after, luscious baby pink, and shows some natural inclusions. The foiling is intact and the charm has only the lightest surface wear, consistent with her great age. At over 200 years old we think she looks pretty exceptional!! The 18ct Gold cannetille work is bright yellow and well preserved with only minor softening of detail. Overall, the pendant has been well cared for and remains in beautiful antique condition.
