Glowing with a deep wine-red hue, this Victorian 18ct Gold pendant centres on a luscious oval Garnet cabochon framed by a striking sunburst of sculptural, radiating panels. The rich, satin Gold finish and crisp geometry create a bold, compass-like motif, punctuated by small matching Garnet accents set on the diagonal for a refined play of light and texture.

Beautifully crafted and wonderfully wearable, it opens to a locket back for a cherished memento. The bezel-set Garnet cabochon is particularly impressive, weighing approximately 7.50ct, its saturated crimson tone perfectly complemented by the warm 18ct Gold.

Item Details

ERA: Victorian (1837–1901).

MEASUREMENTS: Pendant is 35.5mm long including jump ring.
Pendant is 21mm wide.
Garnet cabochon measures 16mm long x 10mm wide, weighing approx. 7.50ct.
Accent Garnets measure approx. 4.5mm long x 4mm wide.
WEIGHT: 10g.

MATERIALS: Tests as 18ct Gold, Garnet (7.50ct).

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

PACKAGING: Your order will be gift-wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.

Condition

EXCELLENT: The central Garnet shows only light surface abrasions under magnification, with all accent stones present and secure. The Gold retains crisp edges and a rich bloom with minor surface wear commensurate with age. The settings are sound and there is no evidence of repair; this piece has been well cared for.
