A dreamy Georgian festoon necklace that shimmers with old-world romance. Crafted in 9ct Gold and set with Star Sapphire cabochons, totalling approximately 13.00ct, its delicate, articulated girandole-style drop is enriched with foliate and scroll openwork for a graceful, fluid drape. The softly domed round and oval Sapphires glow in gentle pastel tones, each nestled in hand-finished cup and prong mounts that move beautifully with the wearer.

MEASUREMENTS: Chain is 16 & 1/2" (42cm) long.
Central drop is 2" (5cm) long.
6 x round Star Sapphires graduate from 4.5mm to 5.5mm in diameter.
Oval Star Sapphires graduate from 5.5mm long x 4.5mm wide to 9.5mm long x 6.5mm wide.
Total Star Sapphires weight is approx. 13.00ct.
Links are 1.5mm wide.
WEIGHT: 11g.

MATERIALS: Tests as 9ct Gold, Star Sapphire (13.00ct).

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

EXCELLENT: The cabochon Star Sapphires show natural inclusions typical of the gem with only light age-appropriate surface wear, and are secure in their settings. The 9ct Gold has a soft patina with fine surface marks consistent with age, and the articulated links and mounts are in strong, stable condition. No obvious later repairs are observed.
