This spectacular Victorian fringe necklace glows with 4.70ct of soft “Rose de France” Amethysts and natural Seed Pearls, all set in rich 15ct Gold. The feminine pastel tones and refined fringe design are classic of the late 19th century, finished with an oversized bolt-ring clasp for that true antique look.

Graceful, romantic, and full of colour, this necklace embodies the craftsmanship and elegance of the Victorian era.

Item Details

ERA: Victorian, c.1890.

MEASUREMENTS: Necklace is 15 & 1/2" or 39.5cm long.
Amethysts graduate from approx. 6mm long x 4.5mm wide to 10.5mm long x 7.5mm wide, weighing approx. 4.70ct combined.
Pearls measure approx. 2.5mm in diameter.
Bolt ring is 8.5mm in diameter.
WEIGHT: 7.7g.

MATERIALS: Tests as solid 15ct Gold, Amethyst (4.70ct), Natural Seed Pearl.

STAMPS: “15CT” tag on chain, “15CT” on bolt-ring clasp.

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

PACKAGING: Your order will be gift-wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.

Condition

VERY GOOD: The Amethysts are bright and well-matched, free from chips or abrasions. The Pearls retain a soft natural lustre, and the 15ct Gold gleams with a beautiful antique patina. A couple of the links have been repaired in the past, but the work has been done sympathetically. The oversized bolt-ring clasp is strong and secure. An exceptional Victorian jewel in outstanding condition.
