A striking Victorian statement ring showcasing a high-domed Banded Agate cabochon with a dramatic “bull’s‑eye” of inky midnight tones encircled by soft blue and white banding. The oval gem is cradled in a closed-back collet with a fine beaded inner edge and framed by a twisted‑rope border, while pierced, split shoulders lend an elegant, hand-finished flourish.

Agate measures 18mm long x 14mm wide.
Band is 2.5mm wide at the back.
WEIGHT: 4g.

MATERIALS: Tests as 18ct Gold settings, 9ct Gold shank, Agate.

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

PACKAGING: Your order will be gift-wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.

Condition

EXCELLENT: The high-domed Agate is glossy with only light surface wear, with no notable chips or cracks. The 18ct Gold collet and decorative shoulders are secure and crisp with a gentle patina; the 9ct shank remains round and sturdy. Under magnification a faint seam is visible at the inner shank, consistent with hand fabrication or an old professional resize; the ring is secure and ready to wear.
