Three Amethysts form a dramatic descending arrangement in this Georgian necklace, with a bright round Rock Crystal separating the large rectangular centre from the pear-shaped drop. The changing shapes give the design its distinctive silhouette, while the purple stones bring a remarkable depth of colour.

Small groups of triple claws trace the edges of the Amethysts, holding them within warm Rosy Gold settings. Short lengths of chain suspend the broad central stone beneath its smaller companion, leaving an open space that makes the arrangement feel especially considered.

With approximately 38ct of Amethyst, this is a necklace that gives its gemstones room to shine. The fine chain and barrel clasp complete a striking piece whose open-backed settings are almost as interesting to admire as the front.

Condition

All three Amethysts and the round Rock Crystal are present, with bright faceted surfaces and the open-backed claw settings clearly defined. The Gold shows surface wear and patina consistent with its age, particularly around the settings and connecting links.
